Lake Hood Floatplanes - North View
Coming to you courtesy of the Alaska Aviation Museum, this camera looks north across Lake Hood, providing us with a first-class view of floatplane activity in the busiest seaplane base in the world with more than 87,000 takeoffs and landings per year. This view captures the intersection of three water runways.

The buildings shown in the background on the opposite shore are various aviation companies. On a clear day, you can see the Alaska Range in the far background, about 260 miles away from Anchorage.

The Alaska Aviation Museum is located on the south shore of Lake Hood and presents one of the finest displays of Alaskan aviation history with many interactive displays, memorabilia, photographs, films and artifacts from personal collections of Alaska's pioneer aviators.
