McGrath

McGrath is located 221 miles northwest of Anchorage and 269 miles southwest of Fairbanks.  The community functions as a transportation, communication and supply center for Interior Alaska. It is adjacent to the Kuskokwim River (shown here), directly south of its confluence with the Takotna River. This camera is located in "Downtown McGrath" on McGuire Drive.  It shows the airport apron, the Kuskokwim river is in the middle of the frame and Appel mountain is in the background to the right.  McGrath is also a checkpoint for the world famous Iditarod sled dog race.  We'll add a camera to cover the event so be sure to check our MultiView page often for new cameras.
